Isabel Wong

Isabel graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a degree in fashion design. Between studying, she interned for Gareth Pugh as a studio assistant in both London and Paris and worked as an assistant pattern cutter for Giles. She was involved with the Alfa Romeo MiTo Car launch in collaboration with Harris Tweed, showcasing her Harris Tweed Coat Design in April 2009. Her most recent Mackintosh Coat, sponsored by and in collaboration with Mackintosh, will be retailed in the newly opening Mackintosh flagship store, Mayfair, London. The Spring/Summer 2011 collection focuses on simple silhouettes,proportion and experimental creative cutting in an attempt to emulate a sense of weightlessness. subtle elements, of hard technological textures, while retaining its lightness, communicates the theme of gravity and levitation. Finishings are carefully considered and also reflective of the key principles of simplicity and a clean aesthetic. With an interest in creative cutting, finishings and intricate surface detail, Isabel is continuously exploring and expanding new techniques in order to achieve further successful, upcoming collections.
