Havanna Fisher is a budding artist from Harlem, New York.
She is a high school of Fashion Industries graduate and is currently in the 4th year of a double major; Bachelor
of Fine Arts for fashion design as well as a Bachelor of Liberal Arts for dance, at Parson’s School of Design and Eugene Lang.
The daughter of an Artist, Havanna Fisher was literally born into the 'Harlem Arts Scene.' The influence of Harlem's avant-garde
culture is seen in her thesis collection titled 'Sankofa.'
Sankofa is a couture line that features a broad array of colours, textures, and details, that include rich, woven leathers,
delicate and demure laces, in addition to shining beaded

crystals. The collection was designed to tell the story of and represent
the struggles, pain and hardships faced by her African American ancestors as they journeyed to the USA and during their initial settlement
in America. The collection was designed as a way of saying thank you to her ancestors for enduring their hardships and thus paving a way
for her to succeed in today's modern society.
